Very important elections were held week before last in Sudan – the first multi-party presidential polls in over two decades. The results were announced at the beginning of this week. Current president Omar al- Beshir was declared the winner in Khartoum – but who was declared the head of the semi-autonomous South Sudan government? He won by a landslide – 92.9 per cent of the vote, according to Sudan’s National Election Commission
